agenda:
a) Figure out a way to get into the Animation I course for second semester (sorry Julian)
b) Make the cube in Blender move
c) Practice 2D animation
d) Hurry up and get better at drawing, aka, practice 24/7
I'm in an experimental stage right now.
I'm up in the air, trying all kinds of different methods of shading, hair, lighting, etc. I usually just stick to one method and use the same thing over and over again for all my work, but I guess experimenting and not giving a fuck is how you learn new techniques that work for you. It's far too early for me to become a static artist, if there is such a thing.
However, I'm horribly stuck in all my works for semi-realism. On my iPad, I have a small handful of works that have line art and solid base colors filled in to the line art. After that stage, I get stuck and draw something else. My problem with semi-realism is I don't know how much detail to go into, especially with fabrics and clothes.
Nudes are so much easier. It's all one texture.
Whenever I tell myself to do something because it's easier, and to stay inside my comfort zone, I can't help but beat myself up over it. My reasoning is that, no, really, it'll look better if you just stick to what you know. Which begs the deep question, does the final result matter? But I'm usually far too tired to think deeply and contemplate my morals as an artist.
So look forward to some really fucked up looking pieces. It's just me experimenting and going out of my comfort zone.

I kind of want to just hurry up and get better at drawing. At least I'm not exactly in an artists block anymore.
I'll be uploading a third version of mom's portrait soon.
Oh and haha I kind of want to go into art/animation/special effects/that such when I get older... so I gotta get my shit together...

yeah thats about it. I'm also trying to make things more... original and not based off of anything, for my future works.. that means no fanart :( booboo

Just stored a shit ton of my deviations.
Glad that's done... it doesn't take long for me to be embarrassed of a new work, I guess.

Cool, I guess.
I'm going to start posting my doodles all over the walls of my room, just like Julia.
Hopefully that'll inspire me to get better at drawing, since I haven't gotten much better over the course of this year. I know. I've got the basics, sure, but I need serious practice.
To focus on realism, or semi-realism... that is the goddamn question.
I also have the urge to make paper beads again. ....It's been a while since I've done that.

5/11/13 ~ Huge on OCs
I just draw a circle from the head and go from there. I should probably come up with some sort of skeleton base before i just jump into the details of the drawing, but I really don't do that.
This is basically what I do when I'm just doodling OCs:
1) Draw a circle
2) Okay um which way is this person looking...?!
3) Draw the jawline
4) Pick an emotion (jealous, happy, excited, etc.) and draw that into the facial features
5) Go crazy and do whatever with the hair. I like to give each of my OCs something unique like a hat, bandana, weird piercing, scar, or something that helps them stand out.
6) Okay does this person identify as a boy, g

By the way, to make the cube move in blender, you need to have the animation widget screen open. Click the first frame. Put your cube at its starting position. Then right click 20 or so frames later and insert keyframe. Move the cube to the end destination On some versions of blender, it will ask you what type of tween you want and you can select "just movement" or something like that. On others, you will have to go to the boxes that have the coordinates in them, right click them, and select "tween".
